So, in the spirit of more adventure, I rocked up to the London Dodie show, which was even more spectacular than Manchester – there were 5000 people at the Hammersmith Apollo, and, as ever, lively and really friendly fans. I was amused at one comment by door staff – a young girl noticed me talkingContinue reading “Dodie London Show”

How I managed to get fuel…
I set the alarm for 3.15 am on Sunday morning and headed out to the 24 hour garage. It seems a few people had the same cunning plan, but there were only 4 people on the forecourt, so I have full tank. What a mess this country is!
disappointed
I was very hopeful that the abortion laws which allows people to terminate the lives of Down’s syndrome babies would be overturned today. https://news.sky.com/story/woman-with-downs-syndrome-loses-legal-challenge-to-prevent-unborn-babies-with-disabilities-being-born-after-24-weeks-12414954 I am in no way anti-abortion – I am pro-choice for women. But losing the case today, the woman who has challenged these laws spoke of having to justify her existence.Continue reading “disappointed”
Ever felt cheated? ‘Spoofing’ warning.
Well, I am on a roll today. Thought I would share my story as a warning not to get involved with accident management companies. In April this year, we had a car accident when a guy who was not driving too carefully crashed into my car, spinning it 180 into oncoming traffic. In a panicContinue reading “Ever felt cheated? ‘Spoofing’ warning.”
Deeply offensive, abelist article
I just read this – and honestly, I don’t know whether to laugh at the ignorance, or simply despair. Would we force the blind to see, or the day to hear to fit in with this narrow little world? This article is suggesting that if we train autistic kids to behave like ‘normal’ people thenContinue reading “Deeply offensive, abelist article”
Live music is back
This weekend I took two trains to Manchester to see Dodie live at the O2 Apollo. She is becoming such an excellent show person – it truly was spectacular. The support act, Will Joseph Cook was amazing too. I love the name – Will he? Is this a never-ending existential question? Also – what happenedContinue reading “Live music is back”
Families, caught.
Today, in court 3, a judge stole my son. He knew nothing about me, or our lives, and how far we’d come. All he had were some pieces of paper, written by a couple of women, both named Claire. About how I’d been beaten and tried not to show it; diminished with words; and althoughContinue reading “Families, caught.”
It’s all in your head..
I had a bit of interest when I posted Dysmorphic yesterday, and, after a busy day sorting out an A level Literature course for my student, I thought I would follow up on that. Dysmorphia. I watched a TV programme about this condition, and I totally related to it – the way people described it,Continue reading “It’s all in your head..”
Dysmorphic
I don’t have time to write very much about this tonight, but I wanted to share thoughts about body dysmorphia. Many people have little understanding of what this is, and how it affects people. To begin, I will share this poem, soon to be appearing in book print. Here it is below. More on thisContinue reading “Dysmorphic”
